Born in: Changhua, Taiwan

Performing with Shen Yun since: 2013

Elsie Shi won first place in the adult female division of New Tang Dynasty Television’s 2016 International Classical Chinese Dance Competition. She studied classical Chinese dance at Taiwan’s Niao Song School of the Arts before moving to New York to study at Fei Tian Academy of the Arts and Fei Tian College, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts, graduating summa cum laude. She is currently completing her Master of Fine Arts in Classical Chinese Dance, also at Fei Tian College.

For dancers, I think the highest level of artistry is to be able to express the inner emotion through the body.
